About Jayme
“I always thought lawyer jokes were weird. My Dad is a lawyer and he is amazing, patient, kind, and principled. He raised four daughters that love and respect him. I vividly remember the first time I ever heard him yell. It was in a Travis County courtroom. I was a young, newly licensed attorney co-chairing a trial. My Dad was so passionate and there was nothing more important to him in that moment than making sure our client was taken care of by the insurance company we were up against. That’s when it hit me. This is it. I have never liked bullies and I have never liked people not doing what they should do or said they would do.
Being a lawyer is my chance to stand up to the bullies and make a difference for someone by being their voice. And since my parents always told me that I would argue with a fence post I decided to use my gusto to fight a more formidable opponent. So here I am. A lawyer. In a profession that is the butt of a lot of jokes. I still don’t like lawyer jokes and I think I am a pretty funny person. I once took a State Farm t-shirt that said “Like a Good Neigh-Bear“ off a teddy bear and put it on a stuffed Grinch from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Then I felt bad because the Grinch actually did a big-hearted thing at the end.
So who am I? I believe in telling the truth. All the time. No matter what. I believe no one should get a free ride. And that you should always take responsibility for your wrongs and do what you can to make them right. I believe you should do what you say you will do and that we have an obligation to care for others and leave the world a better place for our children.”
Jayme is an extremely active Mom Taxi and never misses any of her daughter’s soccer, volleyball, or basketball games, track meets, piano recitals, saxophone lessons, or the opportunity for a good snuggle. When she is not at the office you can find her on a tractor, on a horse, or somewhere in nature with her husband and 3 daughters.
She volunteers for Meals on Wheels, and serves as a Trustee on the board at the Austin Waldorf School.
Jayme is also a bit of an organizational guru. In addition to being a trial lawyer, she handles the details and the business parts of the firm.
